The fifth studio album ” 24 Hrs ” by Olly Murs “English recording artist”, released through Epic Records. Olly Murs has come a very long way since losing out to Joe McElderry on the X Factor in 2009. Over the last 7 years he has consistently graced the charts, entertained on the small screen and teased with saucy shoots for both the boys and the girls. While many talent show contestants stumble out of the starting block and tumble by the second hurdle, Olly has managed to maintain public interest and relevance. While the formula may have simply been to stay true to the artist original voters fell in love with, will it work for him a fifth time?
24 HRS is his latest album and while he does co-write on more than a couple of the songs, adding in a more personal edge to the record, the writing team also boasts celebrated hitmakers including Ed Drewett, Kara DioGuardi, Wayne Hector and Camille Purcell. Unsurprisingly the album builds on the sound that has defined his career to date, yet somehow it doesn’t lose the appeal that was there from the very outset.
Having spoken about the album being a break-up album, there are brief moments, most notably Flaws, where the reality of the emotional delivery is more noticeable than in his earlier outings, but on the whole this is a collection of paint-by-numbers pop that will have you singing, bouncing, loving and swaying along without shame.
And whoever said there was anything wrong with that? With radio hits That Girl, Love You More and You Don’t Know Love set to be your latest earworms, we suggest you just sit back, press play and let Olly do the singing and imagine his cute tush wiggling at the appropriate time.
